Year in Review!
2016 was difficult, and continues to be challenging as we as a whole tumble into 2017, and the countless instances that baffled us, pained us and robbed us are beyond noteworthy. There are numerous memes and articles circling the internet listing many of these instances and it is true that when seen all together, the breadth of 2016 is grotesque.
When there is just so much beauty in the world, it is easier for me to refocus what I can control. Professionally, 2016 has slayed more than any other year and I am so filled with gratitude. This is my first completed year as a professional photographer and it was beyond beautiful. My incredible wife and I traveled to many destinations to shoot this year:
Cape Cod, MA
New York City, NY
Eagle Beach, Aruba
Palm Island, FL
And the dozens of local spots where we live that are way more dazzling than they are credited.
I am finding myself more in my work this year, growing as an artist, both technically and conceptually. I still get super nervous on my insides before every damn photo shoot. It doesn’t matter who the client may be, the location, the circumstance or project, I feel this little fire in my belly that I hope I never lose.
I have gained a professional partner in my wife Hayley and that has added only more greatness to our new marriage. She amazes me with her grasp on reality, as often mine is MIA. She provides the fullness in my brain in the spots where it is dim and disconnected. She is amazed by my artistry which propels me to no end.
Maybe 13 people read these blogs that I put out about our work, and I just wanted to thank you guys for endless support and love. You guys tell me so often how great is it to see me so happy and making photographs. It means everything to know you are there, participating in so much of this with me. Hiring me. Trusting me. Thank you for your true support.
I have so many high hopes for 2017, our vision is limitless.
