This day was incredibly refreshing. Sarah and Garrison devised a truly unique timeline and guest list for this smartly elegant wedding. There were 8 other people there to participate in the nuptials, total. Total: 10 people. They wanted to keep it as simple as possible and as intimate as well. I was so inspired by this idea. I spent the entire day with them, morning into night, to capture the breadth of this experience. The venue is the breathtaking Riverside Bed & Breakfast. The couple that runs it is just too perfect, at one point Wim spontaneously started in on “Hello” by Adele on the piano. At first, the usual emotional passageway that includes the nerves and the sweat was not being taken. Sarah and Garrison both were calm as could be, leisurely going about the day as if it were any other. Garrison’s sister Taylor was Sarah’s makeup artist. Sarah’s mom Ann was arranging floral table decor in the kitchen and the boys were watching television in the spectacular cigar room. It all came together so earnestly and from so much love. Garrison designed the cake and Sarah didn’t see it until it was delivered by Ron from Cakes by Ron. As the day progressed and the ceremony began, the rays of joy truly displaced any of the nonchalance. The time I got to spend with Garrison and Sarah in the moments after the ceremony were so lovely. Taking their first portraits as a married couple, and witnessing the simplicity of their design for these moments.
