Christmas dinner was at Auntie Becky and Uncle John’s, you will see Uncle Peter carving the meat. There were some really sweet moments and I love that I am so openly invited to their (our) family dynamic. Gram Kesner (Jean) looked so poised and gracious. The best mashed potatoes I have EVER had. The entire meal was delicious. Uncle John flung his meat around at the table.
Later that evening, my wife and I went back to my mother-in-law’s where we met up with Matthew and later, Jenny and Amanda. We introduced them all to Farkle, a family favorite introduced to us last year at the Cape by Karen. I wish we lived closer to these people.
The following evening: The Kesner Family Party is where everyone comes together for a gift exchange and a meal, BYO dessert, but to share. Uncle Peter and Auntie Linda hosted this year and their new home is gorgeous. So awesome: Grab bags, raffles, new babies, old babies, in-laws, born-ins, new house!, love + serious holiday joy.
The next day Hayley surprised me with a trip to the RISD Museum! It was phenomenal. She and I used to museum quite often, but haven’t had the chance in a while, it was so wonderful. On our last day up north, we spent it with Jenny and Amanda, in their lovely home in Boston. Matthew even made the trip for the evening. Strolled the street on the coldest night I’ve seen maybe ever, to dine. Amanda tried on my onesie while Jenny floated like an angel throughout our luggage and miraculously repacked us. And then in the early, early morning, it snowed. Finally.
