I hadn’t been up north in a very long time, and I was so excited to go for Christmas with my new wife. And to see snow. Sort of obsessed over it the whole time we were there. Turns out, it wasn’t much colder up there than what it was back home. Hayley is from Rhode Island and her family is just so spectacular, we had so many truly special moments with them. I grew up with two much younger siblings, so I was very familiar with staying up insanely late the night before Santa comes to help wrap Santa’s gifts. But my wife had never done this before, and she loved it (I went to bed this year). We have Hadley as our baby niece and Wyatt as our little boy nephew. Christmas Eve we had family dinner, opened adult gifts and played a game of chance: Pieface. Hayley brought each family member a personalized pair of footy pajamas and it was required they wear them throughout the holiday. Wyatt, Hayley and I shared a bed for the night at first sliver of light, Wyatt was up under the tree. And so we fell in line. Karen gave Hadley the sweetest vintage babydoll that I adore and Hillary and Hayley are creeped by. We gave Mike a personalized blanket that contains dozens of images of.. himself. All different versions of himself. Tess got a framed photo of Timmy. Ryan wore the jammies the best. So much more. I loved this visit.
