This was probably the most laid back vacation stay of my adult life. There were no plans to make, because we were all staying in this gorgeous beach house on an island. No sites to see or deadlines to limbo underneath because the options were finite. We could head to the Gulf of Mexico, swim in the pool, cruise in the golf cart, or hang in house that boasted so much natural light. Ryan and Tess went coconut hunting, the kids were dolled up as super heroes for their birthdays, Wyatt had a hilarious tiny scare as a wave rolled over him on the beach. We spied on Karen as she sunbathed with the drone. The kids and I went on a drone expedition to find Didi and Daddy exploring the canals in the kayak. Hillary became the Chief of Excavation and Shark Tooth Research. Hayley, Hillary and I went out on a midnight ride with the golf cart and its battery lost its life. Ryan was head chef on Pizza Night, and Tess tossed the dough expertly. Mike finally saw an alligator on our way back to Sarasota. The kids were amazing and Hadley would just sit for me with my camera so perfectly. We all watched the sun set each night. At home, Hayley and I get to see really beautiful sunsets like these, whenever we decide to take the drive to the water. It is so incredible to be with family and see their awe of this same beauty. I felt very grateful on this adventure.
